Risotto alla milanese with ossobuco
Milan's own dish, made the way it is at home.
Fresh fish, pizza from the wood-fired oven and the Calabrian flavours of Signor Giuseppe, in a dining room painted after the great surrealists. A neighbourhood restaurant Milan has known for 37 years.
A menu that follows the seasons, a wood-fired oven lit every evening, and a dining room that is a reason to visit in itself.
Antipasto Murale's for two, spaghetti with clams and bottarga, fried squid and prawns, salt cod three ways.
Starters and pasta
Classic, hand-made, baked in the wood-fired oven the traditional way. The signature pizzas are named after painters: Magritte, Mirò, Dalì, De Chirico.
Pizzas, focaccias and pitte
Murals after Magritte, Dalí, Miró and De Chirico. You dine inside a painting, and that is where the name comes from.
The story of the placeFrom our guests' photos and reviews on Google. Prices are indicative; the full menu changes with the season.

Milan's own dish, made the way it is at home.

The big seafood platter to start. Generous, everyone says.

Baked in paper, with whatever came from the market.

Mozzarella, Belgian endive, cherry tomatoes, parmesan and cured ham.

The southern touch you'll find across the whole menu.

With crispy vegetables. Light, dry, hot.

Baked with ricotta, lemon and chopped pistachio.

Salt cod three ways on one plate. Our classic.
Murale's opened in 1989 on the quiet Piazza Gramsci, on the site of the old Tuscan trattoria Moreno. The walls are painted after the great surrealists: Magritte's clouds and dove, Dalí's melting clocks, Miró's constellations.
Fifty seats inside, another fifty on the terrace among the palm trees from March to October. The right setting for a romantic dinner, a night out with friends or a family lunch.
Read our storyNot only did we eat very well, the restaurant is also beautiful, with paintings after Magritte, Dalí, Miró. Impeccable service.
Very welcoming restaurant. We had the Antipasto Murale's for two, really good and generous. Excellent gnocchi and a very good pizza. We'll definitely be back.
The food was excellent, at reasonable prices, and everyone was incredibly kind. The spaghetti with clams and bottarga and the pumpkin risotto were spectacular.
Excellent cooking, matched by the service and the courtesy of Signor Giuseppe.
Very good pizza, just as I expected. Friendly service (they spoke both English and Italian) and a typically Italian atmosphere. All good.
A fantastic place with a unique atmosphere! The service was incredibly friendly. I felt at home.
